Chasecation 2014 Day 2 – Hoping for Something

The Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD.

We begin today departing from Mitchell, South Dakota in hopes of getting some storms in western South Dakota or eastern Montana. A tornado would be nice, but some good storm structure would make today a good day in our book.

Today is the first anniversary of the Rozel, Kansas tornadoes, which we drove overnight from the East Coast to see. The drive was difficult, but it paid off big time for us. This year is starting off on a much quieter note, but we remain optimistic that late May will give us enough to make this a worthwhile chasecation.
