Top U.S. tornado videos of 2012

2012 was a quiet year for tornadoes. Really, it was as quiet as it gets. When using inflation adjusted numbers, 2012 is on track to go down as one of the least productive in the modern record (dating back to the 1950s). But, there were still tornadoes, and tornado videos. Some pretty intense ones too! Below is a sample of the best. I’ve chosen one video from each of the main outbreaks that were widely videoed in 2012, as several videos from each event could have made the list.

All years: 2022 | 2021 | 2020 | 2019 | 2018 | 2017 | 2016 | 2015 | 2014 | 2013 | 2012

There were a number of close calls for this post, and ones arguably deserving a mention, like this EF-2 in Wyoming in June. A few lower-level tornadoes have been included, either because of their location or unusual nature. Feel free to chime in with anything you feel should have been given mention!
