Concering Tornado Threat Forecast Updates

Since we are in the quieter period of tornadic activity, updates will be less frequent. I took a little vacation from doing them, but I plan on doing forecasts as needed during the quieter parts of the year in general.

Aside from a stray tornado here and there, there really hasn’t been much to talk about. A large upper-level ridge over the central U.S. has kept wind speed shear relatively weak, which has been a large part in keeping the tornado count low since mid-June. I suspect this will be the case going into at least the start of August.
